About the Competition
Excellence. Talent. Sportsmanship.
The Italian Consulate General U20 Cup is a grassroots youth football initiative packaged by Rudder Sports Management Limited in partnership with the Italian Consulate General. The inaugural edition will feature eight selected clubs competing in a structured tournament scheduled for June 2 to June 7, with a clear focus on identifying and developing emerging Nigerian football talent.
The competition is backed by former Super Eagles stars Obafemi Martins and Christian Obodo as tournament ambassadors, lending their experience to a platform designed to give young players the structured exposure they deserve. The best 18 players from the tournament will be selected to travel to Italy for further development and potential exposure to European clubs.
With the support of the Consul General, Ugo Boni, and the Lagos State Football Association, the Italian Consulate General U20 Cup aims to bridge the gap between raw Nigerian talent and international opportunity, creating a credible pathway for the next generation of football stars.
